Analysis of the topic of diversity and human rights

Human Rights and Diversity Reflections

The growth of society or any community is much dependent on diversity. In this case, people can use diversity to appreciate what the other life offers. Thus, we can consider diversity to comprise the different races, cultures, religions, and social life. Due to different cultures, people can experience different lifestyles and hence the concept of diversity. On the other hand, human rights can be referred to as legal guarantees that protect people from harm, giving them human dignity, entitlements, and freedom (Thomas, 2020). For this paper, I will consider some of my personal views on the topic of diversity and human rights. Therefore, this paper comprises some reflections on diversity and human rights.
It is worth noting that human rights are different and should be respected and upheld by all individuals. For instance, there are different human rights like the right to security, liberty, fair trial in courts, and equal protection of the law. Some of my personal views that I gathered during the course or the topic was that human rights are essential to everyone, society, and the governing authority like the government. In this case, everyone should be equal and accessible, regardless of age, gender, religion, creed, or nationality(Ife, 2022). In other words, people should be allowed to practice their rights at any place without interference. Therefore, government agencies and bodies should ensure that their rights are upheld and that everyone is respected.
On the other hand, diversity is extensive; hence, learners can garner much knowledge from the topic when studying. For instance, when considering cultural diversity, the learners might consider essential topics like race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, language, and gender(Thomas, 2020). In this case, all the above subtopics are essential to the individuals in the community, so respecting them can be crucial. For instance, people are free to practice their sexual orientation or ethnicity. Thus, from my perspective, I can state that the most fundamental view I received from the topic is that once people experience cultural diversity, they will experience a whole new world from a different perspective. In other words, they will learn to respect everyone regardless of who it is.
Despite the differences in definitions between human rights and diversity, the two are almost similar. Once you understand diversity, it becomes easier to understand the importance of upholding human rights. Thus, some of the essential benefits of learning the topic will be deep learning. In this case, the students can learn more about people through culture and the rights that people are entitled to by their respective governments. On the other hand, the students can grow and become more confident (Ife, 2022). In other words, they understand the culture’s values and why it is essential to learn about different cultures. Therefore, there are many benefits associated with the topic.
In conclusion, I choose the topic to determine if there is a difference between diversity and human rights and evaluate the benefits of learning about the topic. In this case, I could determine that there is no difference between the two since once you understand diversity, it becomes easier to understand and appreciate human rights. Some of the advantages that one can receive from the topic include understanding better about humans and culture and building confidence in their learning. Thus, as stated earlier, we defined human rights as government legal guarantees that protect people from harm, giving them human dignity, entitlements, and freedom. In addition, diversity is defined as the different lifestyles people experience from sharing different cultures.
