Good understanding of the word of God

SAMUEL
Samuel served as a prophet and a judge in Israel, which means that God raised him to deliver the people of Israel and defeat their enemies. Samuel’s leadership style was governed by clarity and a good understanding of the word of God. When the people of Israel drowned in sin, he put the interests of the Israelites before his and taught them the good and the right ways. Samuel was a prayer man, which was demonstrated when King Saul rebelled against God.
From Samuels’ leadership style, we learn that we should trust in God as He spoke to Samuel in Many ways, which he obeyed. We should also priories the word of God as Samuel constantly encouraged his people not to forsake God. Moreover, we should develop compassion for others as Samuel had for the Israelites.
Samuel’s leadership was marked by great transition. He was the last judge of Israel, and he further anointed the first two kings. He helped the Israelites move from being ruled by judges to a kingdom where Kings governed them during his reign.
SAUL
Saul was a cruel leader and opted to make decisions that would elevate his name rather than what would worship God. His disobedience to God was demonstrated when God commanded him to kill all the Amalekites. He decided to spare the king so that he could humiliate him in front of the people before he killed him. After Samuel informed him that God had stripped leadership from him and his descendants, Saul tried to blame his soldiers to free his name. He later repents but asks Samuel to honor his name before the people for the last time.
From King Saul, we learn that we should take ownership of our faults rather than blame it on others. Furthermore, we should not prioritize our status as this leads us astray from God’s word. Besides, we should obey God’s command, as this led to the failure of Saul.
Despite his flaws and mimicked leadership, Saul displayed excellent military skills. This act of bravery put him on top as one of the great military leader. He led the people into war and conquered their enemies from all sides. He conquered the Amalekites and delivered the Israelites from the hands of their enemies.
DAVID
David is known as one of the best leaders. He was not flawless, but with God’s guidance, he led the people to success. He firmly believed in God and reaffirmed that since God delivered him from the lions, he would also rescue them from the Philippines. In his fight with Goliath, David stated that he was fighting with the help of the Lord. He had a clear direction to follow, which assisted him in leading the people according to God’s word.
Patience is one value learned from David. Having been promised leadership, David had to wait decades for God to fulfill his promise. David went ahead and killed Goliath, a giant that came to challenge the people of Israel, and from this, we pick that we should be courageous. Lastly, we should have faith, as David urged the Israelites to have faith whenever they lost hope.
David left a legacy as he pointed the people of Israel to God. He was weak and dying, and the people were in fear as he led them to prosperity and unity. He dedicated the people to God, continually reminding them they would need God more on his departure. David further defeated Jerusalem and made it a religious and political Centre.
Eli
Eli led as a priest and one of the judges of Israel. He was a weak leader, as he would sleep or lie whenever the nation was in chaos. He was not a firm leader, as he failed to correct his sons when he heard of their evil doing. He was further warned about God’s anger in his son’s behaviors, but he still failed to warn them and responded that the Lord should act according to his own will, which is not expected of a leader.
His ruling taught us that we should be quick to act when corrected. Furthermore, we should make efforts to curb the chaos that is present in our surroundings. Moreover, obedience to the Lord is vital, as Eli failed to obey God’s word, which contributed to his failure.
Eli is remembered for the evil deeds of his son and how he failed to correct their destructive behaviors. Upon this, he and his descendants were cursed that they shall not live beyond seventy years. This punishment is reflected in the present world as we are subjected to a life span of seventy years.
